How Love Begins

  

   Hiccup couldn't believe he was going do this. Hiccup was anxious and having second thoughts. 

   This is bad idea. Go back! Go back!, thought Hiccup, No don't! Ruffnut's gonna rip your balls off. Don't go! Don't go! 

    Hiccup decided to leave from home when her apartment door opened. Hiccup was expecting Rapunzel but instead a fizzy red-orange haired, bright blue eyed girl was in front of the door. 

    "Hi," said the girl. 

    "Hello," said Hiccup as casually as he could,"Is Rapunzel here?" 

    "Yep," said the girl. She moved away to show Rapunzel with her hands behind her back and smiling.

     Hiccup's jaw dropped suddenly but he quickly closed it and put hand on his jaw just incase it happened again. She was so beautiful. She was wearing a cream-colored ribbon-tie shirt, red gold-button cardigan, navy blue trimmed-pocket capris, peach flower-trimmed flats, bronze heart necklace, and a white blossom hair clip that blushed her hair behind her ear. 

    Rapunzel giggled and said,"Shall we going?" 

    "Yes," said Hiccup.

    Rapunzel grabbed her red purse and walked though the doorway. 

    As they walked down the hallway, the red-headed girl shouted,"Have fun you two!" 

    "Shut up!," Rapunzel shouted back.

    They took the elevator to the parking lot. Hiccup walked his car. He was at the driver door when he realized Rapunzel stopped walking and was four lots behind him.

    "Is everything ok?," he asked.

    "Do you like cars?," she asked. 

    "Not that much," he answered,"Why?" 

    "Well you are looking at someone else's car and its one that you don't see one like that to often," she said.

    "No, this is my car," said Hiccup. 

    "Oh, this is you car?," asked Rapunzel. 

    Hiccup held up his keys. 

    "Oh, sorry! I thought-" 

    "It's ok," said Hiccup.

    "What kind of car is it?," asked Rapunzel. 

    "A black Koenigsegg CCX Convertible," said Hiccup. 

    Rapunzel was about to open the door when Hiccup said," The door goes up rather than out." 

    The expression on Rapunzel's face as the door went up made Hiccup smile. Then they got into the car and drove off.

 

    When they got to the restaurant, Rapunzel was a little wobbly getting out of the car.

    "Are you ok?", asked Hiccup walking by her side just in case she fell.

    "That car just goes really, really fast," said Rapunzel, "But I'm fine."

    "Are you sure?," said Hiccup.

    "Yes I am. See I am walking normally again," said Rapunzel with a few giggles," and that was really fun."

    "Reservation for Haddock," Hiccup said to the waiter who was sitting people when they got in the restaurant.

    "Right this way," he said.

    When they sat down at a booth, Rapunzel asked," Wait, your last name is Haddock?"

    Hiccup nodded.

    "By any chance is your father Stoick Haddock?," asked Rapunzel.

    "Yep," sighed Hiccup. Why didn't he change his last name when he was eighteen?

    "Wow, your father is huge in Judicial branch," said Rapunzel. Hiccup's dad was a judge for California. When he was a prosecutor, he won all of his cases except two. Then he became a judge for civil and criminal cases. Now there is talk of him going into Supreme Court. " and his son is-"

    Rapunzel stopped. She was putting the pieces together in her head.

    "So you're-"

    "Yep," said Hiccup.

    "Wow, you did so much in your life already," said Rapunzel with abrasion. She said something else but Hiccup couldn't hear her.

    Finally a waitress came and said that her name is Jenny and asked for their drink orders. Hiccup and Rapunzel both ordered Coke and the subject was dropped.

    There was some silence. Then Hiccup asked," What do you do for a living?"

    "I work as a nurse at Lenox Hospital," answered Rapunzel.

    "Do you like working there?," asked Hiccup.

    "Yes," said Rapunzel.

    "What is your last name?," asked Hiccup.

    "Why do you want to mine?," retorted Rapunzel.

    "Just curious," said Hiccup.

    "Corona," said Rapunzel.

    "Like the beer?," asked Hiccup.

    They both laughed and their drinks came. The waitress came and asked for their food orders. Rapunzel ordered the grilled chicken salad and Hiccup ordered the chicken and broccoli pasta.

    "What kind of books are you into?," asked Rapunzel. 

    "Fanstay," replied Hiccup,"Yours?" 

    "I will read anything," said Rapunzel. 

    "What is your favorite book?," said Hiccup.

    "Why did you ask that question? Its so hard," complained Rapunzel.

    "That's why I asked it," smiled Hiccup.

    "That's very mean but I...would....have....say.....uh....fifty shades of grey," said Rapunzel.

    "Ok, I think I need to rethink you. I would never guessed that you would read something like that," said Hiccup surprised.

    "Well, I did say I would read anything and a few nurses at the hospital were talking about it," explained Rapunzel. 

    "I hope no kids were around to hear that conversion," said Hiccup. 

    Rapunzel laughed and said," What's your favorite book?"

    "Eragon," said Hiccup.

    They talked on until their food arrived.

 

    Rapunzel was having a lot fun with Hiccup. She was glad that she didn't chicken out.

    After dinner, they went to Bryant Park and were walking around the park asking each other would you rather questions.

    "Would you rather eat scorpion or pink-toed tarantula?," Hiccup asked Rapunzel.

    "Gross! Either!," exclaimed Rapunzel.

    "You have to choose one," smiled Hiccup.

    "Ok. Is the poison out of the scorpion?," asked Rapunzel.

    "Yes," conformed Hiccup.

    "Then the scorpion," chose Rapunzel.

    "When I was in China, I ate a scorpion," said Hiccup.

    "Sick! What did it taste like?," asked Rapunzel.

    "Shrimp," answered Hiccup.

    "Ok, my turn. Would you rather fight five Mega Mechs or a herd of walkers?," asked Rapunzel.

    "You watch Falling Skies and The Walking Dead?," said Hiccup surprised. 

    "My friend got me into The Walking Dead and I got her into Falling Skies. I also read the comics," said Rapunzel.

    "Why does that not surprise me? But that's an easy question, five Mega Mechs," said Hiccup.

    "Why?," asked Rapunzel.
    "I probably wouldn't have enough bullets to kill each walker and I could kill the Mega Mechs with an augmented gun," said Hiccup," Was your friend the one I met at your door?"

    "Exactly," said Rapunzel," Speaking of friends, how do you know Jack and how did he become your roommate?"

    "He saved my life," said Hiccup," I was walking down the street when someone shoved me into an alleyway and pointed a gun at me. I was stunned and shocked so I really didn't know how to act to something like this. I just put my hands up and froze. When I thought he was about to pull the trigger, Jack came out of nowhere and hit him with a crowbar, knocking the guy out. Jack asked if I was ok. I said that I was fine and I thanked him for saving my life. I also said if there was anything I could for him and he responded I need a place to stay. I said done, asked him for his name, and gave him my address."

    "Wow, so you let complete stranger into your home," said Rapunzel.

    "Actually, he was surprising one of my friend's friend and I did do a back round check on him when I got home ," said Hiccup.

    "That's a lovely way to meet a person," said Rapunzel.

    They walked and talked until it was 9:15. They headed back to Hiccup's car and Hiccup drove Rapunzel.

    Once they got back to Rapunzel's apartment, Rapunzel said," I had a fun time tonight, Hiccup."

    "I did too," agreed Hiccup.

    "Would you like to come in for some coffee?," asked Rapunzel.

    "I would love to but I need to get home," said Hiccup.

    "I understand. We will have to do this other time," said Rapunzel.

    "Yes we should. Do you have any plans for next Saturday night?," asked Hiccup.

    "Nope, you?"

    "Nothing, shall we go then?," asked Hiccup.   

    "We shall but where to?," asked Rapunzel.

    "Movie?," suggested Hiccup.

    "Sure. I will check for times at a theater," said Rapunzel.

    "Great. I will see you then," said Hiccup.

    "Ok bye," said Rapunzel.

    "Bye," he said.

    Rapunzel closed her door but watched him leave through her peephole. She wished he could have stayed for coffee so she could spend more time with him.

    She turned around to see Pascal with a mad look on his face and his tail pointing to the clock. It was 11:45. It was past his bedtime and he was worried sick about her.

    "Oh, Pascal," she sighed as spun her wedding ring around her finger.

    Then Rapunzel and Pascal went off to get ready for bed.
